STORE FOCUS

Ragamoffyn's

G
isela Manning started her business by selling clothes out of her own closet. Before she opened Ragamoffyn she worked for several years in the motion picture industry. Although living in Washington and working in the motion picture industry was great during the late 70’s, times were starting to change and jobs were slowing down. Gisela was offered additional work, but she would have to relocate to California. Needless to say, she opted to remain in Washington, and she decided to open her own consignment shop. Gisela found a location that she liked, but no one else thought that she would be successful in that particular location. Being a savvy business woman, she played it safe and conservative. She signed a one year lease and opened the doors to her first consignment shop. The first day of business Ragamoffyn opened with 23 consignments and made a grand total of $920! Gisela was ecstatic and eagerly awaited the second day sales. But on the second day, the store’s grand total was a disappointing $22.00. Days went by with low sales figures and it turned out to be a hard first quarter. To make ends meet, Gisela even sold movies out of the back of her store! Now, Ragamoffyn is a store that everyone knows and loves. The store carries a collection of the finest designer wear and has a loyal following of clientele.

Ragamoffyn is a wonderful place to shop and there are several price points in which to select gorgeous attire. All items are of excellent to superb quality and you can find garb from ten dollars to several thousand dollars. If you are lucky, you may even find a highly sought after Birken bag (she has recently sold one for $6,000.00).

Ragamoffyn presently has appropriately 7000 consignment pieces and receives more each day. Today’s shop is located across the street from the original location and is one of the destination spots of Kirland, Washington.

Gisela Manning, the owner of Ragamoffyn, is also a personal shopper and closet organizer. She charges $75 an hour for her services and generally takes approximately 2 hours to whip a closet into shape. Check out the ‘Vitals’ page for more information on contacting Gisela and visiting Ragamoffyn!
