Cindy Greene
"A girl’s gotta be willing to take risks and fall on her face now and again."
Cindy Greene grew up during the 1980’s and got her “big break” in fashion when she sent a t-shirt she had designed to an LA based actor who wore it to a party and shortly there after she was selling her designs at high end boutiques. Greene worked as creative director of the graphic apparel division at DKNY until 2001, when she launched her own label Libertine, with co-founder Johnson Hartig. Libertine is an internationally known fashion house, with fans like Karl Lagerfeld. Inspired by vintage pieces with an emphasis on Victoriana, the line is known for its juxtaposition of graphic prints with preppy motifs, decals and Swarovski crystals. In 2007, Libertine became one of the coveted brands to have a limited line at Target stores all around the country.
Life Facts:
Trained in graphic design, Cindy doesn't limit herself to fashion. In fact, she has designed a Japanese toy called a Bearbrick, a frog dandy.
