MyCloset.com: If you were to give someone advice on how to store your collection in the closet, what would you say?

KLS: WELL YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD KEEP IT UNDER TEMPERATURE CONTROL. IT’S VERY IMPORTANT THAT IT’S NOT TOO HOT OR TOO COLD. YOU DON’T’ WANT TO TRAP HUMIDITY AND I’M LOOKING INTO A STORAGE FACILITY, WHICH IS WHAT BEYONCE’ DOES. BECAUSE I JUST NEED TO ARCHIVE THINGS. GET RID OF IT HONEY, CLEANSE, CLEANSE!

What do you need to cleanse from your own closet?

KLS: YOU NEED TO GET RID OF THINGS THAT YOU DO NOT LIKE OR WOULD NOT WEAR. NOT THAT RULE IF YOU HAVEN’T WORN IT IN SO MANY YEARS, YOU WON’T WEAR IT, BECAUSE I’VE PULLED THINGS OUT. BUT IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, THAT’S DIFFERENT. I DON’T LIKE CHUNKY HEELS. SO THERE’S NO REASON FOR THEM TO BE SITTING THERE.

What’s your best style advice?

KLS: KEEP THINGS BECAUSE SEASONS CHANGE. LOOK, NOW WE’RE WEARING TUNICS OVER PANTS, AND NEXT SEASON IT WILL BE A DRESS, AND NEXT SEASON YOU’LL HAVE IT AS A COVER UP ON THE BEACH. MIX AND MATCH AND DON’T BE AFRAID.

Three pieces you would never get rid of and why?

KLS: I WOULD NEVER GET RID OF MY MANY STILETTOS BECAUSE I LOVE THEM AND THEY MAKE MY LEGS LOOK GREAT. MANOLO BLAHNIK, JIMMY CHOO, GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI. I WOULD NEVER GET RID OF MY BIRKIN BAG. AND I WOULD NEVER GET RID OF MY JEWELRY BECAUSE EVEN WHEN YOU ARE BUTT NAKED WITHOUT ANYTHING, YOU LOOK GREAT IN DIAMONDS.
