PL: I LIKE ALICE. MARC JACOBS. I HAVE A LOT OF OLD GUCCI, FENDI, PRADA FROM THE NINETIES THAT I STILL WEAR. I HAVE DRESSES THAT ARE TEN OR TWELVE YEARS OLD THAT I WEAR CONTINUALLY AND AM HAPPY TO WEAR.

Do you save a lot of things?

PL: I’M ALWAYS RELUCTANT TO THROW OUT STUFF BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN I FEEL LIKE I REALLY SHOULD.

What is your time rule to throw out?

PL: I DON’T HAVE A RULE LIKE THAT. DOES IT FIT WELL? DOES IT LOOK GOOD? IS IT REALLY GOING TO WORK AT ALL?

Any fashion faux pas or things you regret over your style history?

PL: I DON’T LIKE WEARING HIGH COLLAR AND VERY BLOUSY STUFF. I THINK YOU NEED SOMETHING DESIGNED TO FIT FOR A WOMAN.

If you could bring back one era in fashion what would it be?

PL: THE TWENTIES. THE FLAPPER DRESS.

PL: AUDREY HEPBURN, SOPHIA LOREN, KATE MOSS, TWIGGY.

What is a commonality between fashion and food?

PL: IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH TASTE. COMPLETELY ABOUT TASTE, WHETHER IT’S FOOD OR FILM OR FASHION. IT’S THE SAME. IT’S NOT PERFECTION. I’M NOT ATTRACTED TO PERFECTION, JUST EXCELLENCE.
