At least twice a year, Nicolle travels to some of the largest consumer bead shows across the United States, where she takes classes to keep up with the latest technology in jewelry designing, tools and indulges in purchases of quality beading supplies which you see throughout her designs.

Nicolle is often asked “How do you come up with your beautifully creative designs?” Answer: “I find inspiration in everyday life, just look around you, there is always something that will peak your interest enough to stop and admire or even think about later. It may be a person, flowers, buildings or even a good meal!!

What has been your biggest fashion faux-pas?

I guess wearing sneakers at an event until it’s time for me to make an appearance then I’ll put my heel hurting toe crushing shoes on. I am so not a heel shoe wearing person.

If you could only shop at one store, which would it be?

It would be Lane Bryant – the clothes and colors are fashionable & they work very well with my handmade jewelry designs.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be?

I would build an additional space for a walk in “Jewelry box “closet to store and display all of my beautiful handmade jewelry. Oh let me not forget a huge full length mirror.

Survival of the fittest: What is one item in your closet that you will never get rid of?

My black travel sneakers!!! These sneakers keep me going for hours they are so damn comfortable – no shoes, panty, bra or pair of jeans can compare. If your feet are feeling good then the rest follows!! And yes I have a few pair of them. LOL.

If you were given the opportunity to have a famous designer revamp your entire wardrobe, who would you choose?

Kimora Lee Simmons – I would like to see her (not her designing staff but her as a designer) to create a wardrobe for a plus size woman & the pieces would have to be designed around my handmade jewelry. Now that is a challenge within itself – smells like reality show to me anybody got her number??? I also love her KLS collection and could see myself 20 years ago in her designs.

Name an actor/singer/celebrity whose wardrobe you admire the most.

Beyonce & Shemar Moore – whether dressed up or down they always look clean & comfortable in their clothes, no sloppy just thrown together look even if that’s what they did. Besides Shemar looks good with or with out all his clothes. LOL Will my husband see this?????

What are your best and worst fashion purchases?

The best would be a jungle like summer dress that I brought for an event. When I got dressed & walked out the models were looking at me & I thought to myself ooh crap it must look bad on me, but I was so wrong they loved it & told me so. Especially with the pieces of jewelry I made to match – that made me feel really good especially coming from professional models. The worst would be a red silky/shiny blouse & black velvet pants. Wore this outfit to my cities annual Christmas parade which I was participating in. So image the horror I felt when I found out that the belt of the blouse kept going in between my legs & out the back that make me look like I had a red tail & the pants literally came apart b/w the inner thighs & butt & created a nice size hole – good thing I had on black stockings so the kids & parents whom I were passing out promotional treats to would not be able to see my butt. What a night!!!

Who makes your favorite pair of jeans? Shoes? Dress or Suit?

- Shoes – Bandolino, Dress – Ashley Stewart (need a store by me), Jeans – whoever can handle the task of capturing my figure in a sexy way. Jewelry, of course Nicolle Michelle Designs!

If you had to describe your personal style in one word, what would it be?

Unique!!

If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?

- I’d say the 20’s & 30’s but they would have to have an updated spin. Those hair styles were off the hook.
