CELEBRITY CLOSETS

Stacy London

A
fter 14 years of successfully percolating in a variety of highly-sought fashion jobs (for example: Vogue, Mademoiselle, styling for Calvin Klein, Cover Girl and a variety of Celebrities), Stacy beat out numerous applicants seeking the leading postion with the TLC television channel, ‘What Not To Wear’. One of the shows missions is to inspire people to become confident with themselves by helping them become the best that they can be in the style arena. The individual receives hands on, personalized help creating and building productive and appropriate styles for their persons. And generally by being brought in touch with a new, unique sense of personal style, they become more confident and self-aware people, which helps with all. The show is all ad lib with a general style-based focus. And after the creative theme of the particular episode is developed, the rest of the reality-based elements are up to Stacy and Clinton to carry the episode to completion and success. It is an immensely motivational show with charismatic hosts and a huge following. Believe it or not, this new era and venture in Stacy’s life has helped her to further find and cultivate the entirety of her creativeness, philosophy, self awareness, upbringing and education!

Stacy’s journey in style has been vast and diverse. She has helped an array of people from different spectrums of life improve their style of dress and become more confident within their own being. She also speaks and lectures on words of inspiration and wisdom at the Oprah Winfrey's O You! Conference and provides advice and guidance to a multitude of teenage girls and young women with self-esteem issues.

During our interview with Stacy, she gave MyCloset.com readers words to live by: ‘…Your journey in style starts, ends, and depends on you!...Style should be about ‘joy’, not about fear or insecurity. Enhance who you are.” And most of all, “Style is a muscle, you use it or lose it.”

The color purple remains very relevant in Stacy’s life and of course her sense of style is impeccable. As day to day goes, Stacy is racking up more accomplishments as we type this highly demanded feature. Stacy is an individual that grew up with lots of encouragement to pursue her interests, supporters within her quest and she devised her own creative methodology through which to expand her ‘thinking’ experiences. She appears to be one that builds and brings new value to her life daily and enjoys the opportunity to do the same for others

MyCloset.com was very impressed with the overall openness and knowledge sharing that was given by this admired woman. Stacy’s ‘confidence in self’ advice came aplenty and, we took away a need to take the time and reflect upon ourselves. We were reminded that our being should be based on ‘kindness and actions’ and not just style and fashion…and mainly, “Embrace self acceptance…(and) be relevant, not trendy!”
