I believe everything begins with a vision. Before I shop, I have a vision of what I wish to buy. Before I sketch, I have a vision of what I would like a garment to be. Visions of designs come at anytime and I have to be prepared to make a quick sketch. They can come in the middle of the night; while I’m watching TV; while I’m driving…you get the picture. I am most inspired by world culture and landscapes and old movies. My current style can be described as many things – girlie, boho chic, beachy, sporty. However, my ideal style is tropical, beachy, resort-like…I’ll get there one day!

What has been your biggest fashion faux-pas?

In the early 90s (I was in middle school), everyone tucked their jeans into slouch socks.

If you could only shop at one store, which would it be?

Neiman Marcus, a one-stop shop for all things fabulous!

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be?

Expand, expand, expand!

Survival of the fittest: What is one item in your closet that you will never get rid of?

My beloved Ugg boots – they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever slid my feet into.

What are your best and worst fashion purchases?

Best: A summer dress from Benetton purchased 8 years ago that I still love and wear today. Worst: Anything I’ve had for more than a year and still haven’t worn
