The other two designers MyCloset.com had the opportunity to interview were Sam Trout and Gayle Garson who were also showcasing their collections at the event.

What's your look?

Sam Trout: A positive look- trendy, casual and fancy at the same time. Fancy casual.

What's the philosophy that drives your designs?

Sam Trout: Clothes are something you could wear to work, but not to an important meeting. But you can also wear them out in the evening, or at home hangin' with friends.

How do you create your work?

Sam Trout: I take the shirt and add something a little extra or special. An example is a subtle under-print, a patch on the arm or fancy stitching that adds flair.

Where do you get your inspiration?

Sam Trout: Walking around stores, looking at magazines- high fashion ones like Vogue. I want to bring high-end down to a more affordable level.

We asked Gayle Garson designer of milligear what materials she uses to create her handbags?

Gayle Garson: I make them with cordura, which is a water resistant nylon. For the flaps, I use cotton. I also reuse fabrics from things like ties, shirts, place mats. For my favorite bag, I integrated a clipboard. You can do crosswords on the bus!

How do you choose what to use?

Gayle Garson: I use whatever finds me. I also make things I have a personal need for.

Why are the insides of the bags bright yellow?

Gayle Garson: I think people need to see the contents.

Why the name milligear?

Gayle Garson: I named it after my dog. The logo is inspired by my dog's eyebrows.
