Fashions of Central Park

T
he time is always right and the music is always ‘on’. The inviting smiles and exciting moves of the multi-talented skaters of Central Park kept us all upbeat and swaying to the rhythmic sounds of funky pop music. MyCloset.com thoroughly enjoyed the fun ‘old school’ roller skating exhibitors that danced, moved and grooved as they entertained tourists and themselves. Believe it or not, this occurs in Manhattan every Saturday and Sunday afternoon smack in middle of the park.

The variety of activities that one can take pleasure in while in Central Park are numerous. But we must focus on the apparel that was observed...the fashions were even more exciting than the colorful roller skating itself. From the flowy fringe to the topless, to the balloon 'M.C. Hammer' style pants and the rainbow chic attire, fashions were robustly individualized. The vintage mini A-line swing skirts for skating are perfect during the heated summer afternoons and the tight 'delicious' muscle shirts are always a hit. These ‘costumes’ seem well thought out and often custom made for the park's weekend endeavors.

MyCloset.com was blown away by the devotion that is evident in the creativity and the strong theatrical show by these die-hard skaters. And just examine the accessories worn. The custom skates and other paraphernalia are astoundingly extraordinary... check out the bike! So impressed were we by the skater’s garb that we have to feature the courageous and entertaining alluring diversity of dress and trends worn ‘today’ during this great physical past time. All of the players were dressed to give observers a bit of visual stimulation. So relax and lose yourself in this moment of entertainment-and in the attire and flamboyant accessories of the skaters, other players and observers of the magnificent Central Park.
The best image of the City’s diversity is not an abstraction. It is alive in Central Park and called the Skate Circle.
